Crispy air fryer fish tucked into warm corn tortillas and topped with fresh avocado salsa, this easy taco recipe is light, flavorful, and perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound cod or tilapia, cut into strips
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Olive oil spray, as needed
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 2 ripe avocados, diced
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes.
  2. In one bowl mix flour, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and garlic powder. In a second bowl beat the eggs. Place panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  3. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray.
  4. Dip each fish strip into the seasoned flour, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Arrange fish in a single layer in the basket. Lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and cooked through.
  6. In a bowl combine diced avocados, tomato, red onion, cilantro, and lime juice. Gently toss to make the salsa. Warm the corn tortillas.
  7. Fill each tortilla with crispy fish and top with avocado salsa. Serve immediately.

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for even crisping.
  • Serve immediately for best texture.
