- 2 cups water or vegetable broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon neutral oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: fresh cilantro or lime wedges for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Sauté garlic and onion for 2–3 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
- Add rinsed rice and toast for 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Pour in water or broth and add salt. Stir once and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes until water is absorbed and rice is tender.
- Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
- Serve with optional cilantro or lime wedges.

- Rinse rice thoroughly to avoid clumpy texture.
