Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar, then let it activate until foamy.
  2. Stir in flour, salt, and olive oil until a dough forms, then knead until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled.
  4. Preheat your oven to 475 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and heat a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  5. Stretch the risen dough into a circle and spread a thin layer of tomato sauce.
  6. Arrange mozzarella slices and tomato slices evenly over the dough.
  7. Bake until the crust is golden and cheese is melted and bubbling.
  8. Add fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil before slicing and serving.
