Description

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour: 4 to 4 ½ cups
  • Active Dry Yeast: 2 ¼ teaspoons
  • Warm Milk: 1 cup (about 110°F)
  • Sugar: ¼ cup
  • Butter: ¼ cup, melted
  • Egg: 1 large
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Warm Water: ½ cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  3. Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually mix in flour, one cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  6. Punch down dough, divide into 12–15 equal pieces, and shape into balls. Arrange in the prepared pan.
  7. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes until doubled again.
  8. Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Brush hot rolls with melted butter and serve warm.
