Description
Juicy bunless burger bites made with seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar, crisp lettuce, and fresh tomato. These bite sized stacks are perfect for parties, low carb meals, or fun weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 slices cheddar cheese, cut into small squares
- 8 to 10 cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
- 4 romaine lettuce leaves, cut into small squares
- 8 pickle slices (optional)
- Mustard or ketchup for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium high heat.
- In a mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Shape the mixture into small round patties about 2 inches wide.
- Place the patties in the hot skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a small square of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
- Remove patties from the skillet and let them rest briefly.
- Assemble each bite by layering lettuce, a cheesy patty, tomato, and a pickle slice if using. Secure with a toothpick and serve warm.
Notes
- Do not overwork the beef when mixing to keep the patties tender.
- Avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking to retain juices.
- For extra flavor, lightly toast the patties in a cast iron skillet for a better sear.
