Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Combine: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in: Stir in chocolate chips and caramel pieces.
  6. Shape: Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake: Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are lightly golden but centers are still soft. The caramel will bubble slightly.
  8. Cool: Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
