  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a baking sheet or pizza pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add all purpose flour, olive oil, and salt. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 5 to 7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 45 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a 12 inch circle and transfer to the prepared pan.
  6. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough and sprinkle with dried oregano.
  7. Top with cooked chicken, red onion, and bell pepper, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
