Ingredients

- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon oil
- 1 to 2 drops red food coloring
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease it.
- In a heavy pot, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water, stirring gently.
- Attach a candy thermometer to the pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring and cook until it reaches 300°F which is the hard crack stage.
- Remove from heat and quickly stir in the cinnamon oil and red food coloring.
- Pour the hot syrup onto the prepared sheet and allow it to spread.
- Let cool completely, then crack into pieces.
Notes
- Do not touch the syrup because it is extremely hot.
- Add flavoring away from your face because the steam is strong.
- Dust pieces lightly with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
