Scale
- 500g ground beef
- 1 small onion, grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
- Olive oil for frying
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions

- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, grated onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Form the mixture into oval patties and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the patties for 4 to 5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.
- In a separate pan or fryer, heat oil and fry the potatoes in batches until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
- Serve biftekia with fries and lemon wedges on the side. Optional: add tzatziki or salad.
Notes
- Let patties rest in the fridge for 15 minutes before cooking to help them hold their shape.
- Use russet potatoes for best frying results.
- Grated onion adds moisture and flavor to the meat.
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
