Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
- Pour batter evenly into prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely before frosting or serving.
