Description

Cowboy Butter Salmon is a bold, buttery dish that pairs flaky seared salmon with a zesty, garlic-herb butter for a restaurant-quality meal in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp chopped chives
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix butter, garlic, lemon zest, juice, Dijon, red pepper flakes, parsley, chives, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. Add olive oil to skillet and heat.
  4. Season salmon with salt and pepper. Place skin-side down in the skillet.
  5. Cook for 4–5 minutes, flip, and cook another 2–3 minutes until just done.
  6. Remove from heat and top each fillet with cowboy butter.
  7. Garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh herbs for best flavor.
  • Let butter soften before mixing for smoother texture.
  • Leftover cowboy butter is great on veggies or bread.
