- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp chopped chives
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- In a bowl, mix butter, garlic, lemon zest, juice, Dijon, red pepper flakes, parsley, chives, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- Add olive oil to skillet and heat.
- Season salmon with salt and pepper. Place skin-side down in the skillet.
- Cook for 4–5 minutes, flip, and cook another 2–3 minutes until just done.
- Remove from heat and top each fillet with cowboy butter.
- Garnish and serve immediately.

- Use fresh herbs for best flavor.
- Let butter soften before mixing for smoother texture.
- Leftover cowboy butter is great on veggies or bread.
