Easy 5-Ingredient Beer Bread

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf (10 slices) 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A cozy, no-fuss beer bread made with just five ingredients. This crusty, golden loaf is perfect with soups, stews, or simply warm with butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces beer (room temperature)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×5 loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Pour in the beer and gently stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  5. Drizzle 2 tablespoons melted butter over the top of the batter.
  6. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack. Brush with more melted butter if desired.
  8. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use a flavorful beer like a lager or ale for best taste.
  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep the bread tender.
  • Optional mix-ins include shredded cheese, herbs, or garlic powder.
  • This bread freezes well—wrap tightly and store for up to 2 months.
