Description

A warm and flaky croissant filled with savory ham and melted Swiss cheese, lightly brushed with butter and baked until golden. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large fresh croissants
  • 8 thin slices ham (about 200 grams)
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese (about 120 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice each croissant horizontally without cutting all the way through. Spread Dijon mustard inside if using.
  3. Place croissants open on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Layer two slices of ham and one slice of Swiss cheese inside each croissant. Close gently and brush tops lightly with softened butter.
  5. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are lightly golden.
  6. Remove from oven and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overfill to prevent sogginess.
  • Cheddar or mozzarella can replace Swiss cheese.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven to maintain crispness.
