- 4 large fresh croissants
- 8 thin slices ham (about 200 grams)
- 4 slices Swiss cheese (about 120 grams)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice each croissant horizontally without cutting all the way through. Spread Dijon mustard inside if using.
- Place croissants open on the prepared baking sheet.
- Layer two slices of ham and one slice of Swiss cheese inside each croissant. Close gently and brush tops lightly with softened butter.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are lightly golden.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Do not overfill to prevent sogginess.
- Cheddar or mozzarella can replace Swiss cheese.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven to maintain crispness.
