Description
Crisp green tea meets naturally sweet apple and a splash of lemon for a bright, cooling sip that’s light, fragrant, and perfect over clinking ice.
Ingredients
- Green tea bags, 4
- Apple, 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Honey or sugar, 2 tablespoons
- Fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon
- Water, 4 cups, divided (hot for steeping, cold for diluting)
- Ice cubes, as needed
Instructions
- Boil about 2 cups of water in a kettle or saucepan.
- Add the green tea bags and apple slices to a heatproof pitcher.
- Pour the hot water over the tea and apples, then steep for 2 to 3 minutes to avoid bitterness.
- Remove the tea bags and, if preferred, strain out the apple slices. Stir in the honey or sugar and the fresh lemon juice while the tea is warm.
- Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water, stir, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill thoroughly.
- Fill tall glasses with ice and pour the iced apple green tea over the ice.
- Garnish with fresh apple slices or a lemon wheel, then serve and enjoy.
Notes
- Note: Steep only 2 to 3 minutes for green tea to keep flavors smooth and not bitter.
- Make tea ice cubes from brewed green tea so the drink stays strong as it chills.
- Add a sprig of fresh mint to the pitcher for a cooling herbal note.
- Freeze thin apple slices to use as edible ice.
