A bright, citrusy mint lemonade that comes together in minutes, perfectly chilled and lightly sweet for the ultimate warm-day refresher.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 4 cups cold water
- 3 tablespoons honey or granulated sugar
- 8 to 10 fresh mint leaves
- 2 cups ice cubes
- 4 to 5 thin lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Chill Glasses: Place 4 serving glasses in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to get frosty and ready.
- Mix Base: In a large pitcher, whisk together the lemon juice, cold water, and honey or sugar until fully dissolved.
- Add Herbs: Gently bruise the mint leaves between your fingers, then stir them into the pitcher to release their aroma.
- Ice It Down: Add the ice cubes to the pitcher and stir until the drink is well chilled.
- Rest to Infuse: Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes so the mint and citrus flavors mingle.
- Garnish: Add lemon slices to the pitcher or directly to each glass for a zesty finishing touch.
- Serve: Pour into the chilled glasses and enjoy immediately.
Notes
- For bubbles, swap part or all of the water with chilled sparkling water just before serving.
- Make lemon-juice ice cubes in advance to keep the drink cold without dilution.
- Add a few thin cucumber slices for a spa-like twist.
- Adjust sweetness to taste, especially if your lemons are very tart.
