- 8 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced about 1/2 inch thick
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Lightly grease the inside of the slow cooker with butter or nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated.
- Transfer the mixture into the slow cooker and dot with butter pieces on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring once halfway through, until apples are tender but not mushy.
- Stir the cornstarch-water mixture into the slow cooker, then cook uncovered for another 15 minutes to thicken the syrup.
- Serve warm as a side dish, dessert, or topping for pancakes, waffles, or ice cream.
