Ingredients

  • 3 cups broccoli florets (fresh)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water or beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and water or broth. In another bowl, make a slurry by mixing cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Add minced garlic and ginger to the beef and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the sauce mixture and bring to a simmer.
  5. Steam broccoli separately until crisp-tender, then add to the skillet. Stir to coat with the sauce.
  6. Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens.
  7. Drizzle with sesame oil, adjust seasoning, and serve hot over rice or noodles.
