Description

Golden brown French Toast with a soft custardy center, lightly spiced with cinnamon and vanilla, topped with fresh berries and maple syrup.


Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, for cooking
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup, for serving
  • 1/2 cup fresh berries, for topping
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Place a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until fully blended.
  3. Allow the butter to melt and lightly coat the surface of the skillet.
  4. Dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture, soaking about 15 to 20 seconds per side.
  5. Place soaked bread in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Transfer to a plate, dust with powdered sugar, and top with fresh berries.
  7. Drizzle with maple syrup and serve warm.
