Description
Frozen Mud Pie is a dreamy, no-bake dessert that layers a crunchy Oreo crust with creamy chocolate chip (or coffee) ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. It’s rich, cool, and perfect for make-ahead summer treats or special occasions!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1–1/2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs
- 1–1/2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 4 cups chocolate chip or coffee ice cream, softened
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
- Additional Oreo cookies (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine Oreo cookie crumbs, sugar (if using), and melted butter. Stir until the crumbs are evenly moistened.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and slightly up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish to form the crust. Freeze for 15 minutes to set.
- Spread softened ice cream evenly over the chilled crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup over the ice cream layer. Use a knife or skewer to swirl slightly if desired.
- Cover and freeze the pie for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
- Before serving, let the pie sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes to soften slightly. Garnish with additional Oreo cookies if desired, then slice and serve.
Notes
- For a stronger coffee flavor, use coffee ice cream and top with crushed chocolate-covered espresso beans.
- You can prepare this pie up to 2 days in advance and keep it tightly wrapped in the freezer.
- Swap chocolate syrup with hot fudge for a thicker, richer topping.
