- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 1 cup guava paste, sliced into thin rectangles
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice guava paste into even rectangles and beat the egg in a small bowl for egg wash.
- Lay out puff pastry on a floured surface and cut each sheet into 9 equal squares.
- Place guava paste on half of the squares, then top each with another square. Crimp edges with a fork and cut a small slit on top.
- Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar if using.
- Bake for 20 to 22 minutes or until golden and puffed.
- Cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
