Description

Flaky, golden, and irresistibly cheesy, these Ham and Cheese Pastry Pockets are the perfect quick fix for a cozy lunch, brunch treat, or party snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine diced ham and shredded cheddar. Season with a bit of pepper if desired.
  3. Unroll puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into four equal squares.
  4. If using, spread a thin layer of mustard on half of the squares. Add a spoonful of ham and cheese mixture to each.
  5. Top with the remaining squares. Use a fork to seal the edges tightly.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg and cut a small slit in each to allow steam to escape.
  7. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden and puffed. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
