Honey Garlic Ribs

  • Total Time: 2 hours 45 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x
  • Diet: Low Lactose

Description

Tender, sticky Honey Garlic Ribs slow-baked until fall-off-the-bone, then lacquered with a glossy honey-garlic glaze that’s sweet, savory, and irresistibly finger-licking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 lb pork ribs, cut into 34 rib sections
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water (to mix with cornstarch)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a roasting pan with foil for easy cleanup and set a rack inside if available.
  2. Whisk honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and grated ginger in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Arrange ribs meaty side up in the prepared pan. Pour half of the sauce over the ribs, reserving the rest. Cover pan tightly with foil.
  4. Bake for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, until ribs are tender and the meat pulls back from the bones.
  5. Remove foil. Baste ribs with some of the reserved sauce and return to the oven, uncovered, for 20 minutes to reduce and color.
  6. Meanwhile, simmer remaining sauce in a small saucepan. Stir cornstarch with water, then whisk into the sauce and cook 1 to 2 minutes until glossy and thick.
  7. Brush thickened glaze generously over ribs. Optional: broil 2 to 3 minutes to caramelize, watching closely.
  8. Rest 5 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot with extra glaze for dipping.

Notes

  • Make extra sauce: Double the glaze if you like more for dipping.
  • Slow cooker option: Cook ribs on Low for 6–7 hours, then glaze and broil to finish.
  • Tenderness tip: Keep the first bake covered to trap steam and keep ribs juicy.
  • Storage: Refrigerate up to 3 days or freeze up to 2 months. Reheat at 300°F, covered, until hot.
