Description
Classic Irish Coffee made with strong hot coffee, smooth Irish whiskey, a touch of sugar, and topped with lightly whipped cream.
Ingredients

- 1 cup freshly brewed hot coffee
- 1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
- 1 to 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream, lightly whipped
- Light dusting cocoa powder, optional
Instructions
- Warm a heatproof glass mug with hot water, then discard water.
- Add hot coffee and stir in sugar until dissolved.
- Pour in Irish whiskey and stir gently.
- Lightly whip heavy cream until thick but pourable.
- Pour cream slowly over the back of a spoon to float on top.
- Dust lightly with cocoa powder if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use very hot coffee.
- Do not over whip cream.
- Pour cream gently for layering.
