Description

Classic Irish Coffee made with strong hot coffee, smooth Irish whiskey, a touch of sugar, and topped with lightly whipped cream.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup freshly brewed hot coffee
  • 1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream, lightly whipped
  • Light dusting cocoa powder, optional

Instructions

  1. Warm a heatproof glass mug with hot water, then discard water.
  2. Add hot coffee and stir in sugar until dissolved.
  3. Pour in Irish whiskey and stir gently.
  4. Lightly whip heavy cream until thick but pourable.
  5. Pour cream slowly over the back of a spoon to float on top.
  6. Dust lightly with cocoa powder if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use very hot coffee.
  • Do not over whip cream.
  • Pour cream gently for layering.
