Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 24 ladyfingers (Savoiardi)
  • 1 cup lemon syrup (made from water, sugar, and lemon juice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  3. Prepare a shallow dish with lemon syrup for dipping.
  4. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the syrup and arrange in a single layer in your serving dish.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
  6. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or overnight, to allow flavors to meld.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar and extra lemon zest before serving.

Notes

  • Do not over-soak ladyfingers, a quick dip is enough.
  • Chill thoroughly for the best flavor and texture.
