Description

Simple Melty Cheddar Tomatoes made with thick tomato slices baked under bubbly sharp cheddar cheese.


Ingredients

  • 4 large tomatoes, sliced into thick rounds
  • 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Arrange tomato slices in a baking dish and brush lightly with olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and dried oregano evenly over tomatoes.
  4. Top each slice with shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Broil 1 to 2 minutes for extra browning if desired.
  7. Serve warm.
