- 4 large tomatoes, sliced into thick rounds
- 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Arrange tomato slices in a baking dish and brush lightly with olive oil.
- Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and dried oregano evenly over tomatoes.
- Top each slice with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Broil 1 to 2 minutes for extra browning if desired.
- Serve warm.
