Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add egg, melted butter, flour, and salt. Mix and knead until soft and smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough to ¼ inch thickness and cut into squares.
  5. Place a small spoonful of Nutella in the center of half of the squares, then top with another square. Seal edges firmly.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry beignets for about 1 minute per side, until golden brown.
  7. Transfer to a cooling rack and dust with powdered sugar while warm.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy the gooey Nutella filling.

  • Chill Nutella before filling to prevent leaks during frying.
