- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Nutella
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add egg, melted butter, flour, and salt. Mix and knead until soft and smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough to ¼ inch thickness and cut into squares.
- Place a small spoonful of Nutella in the center of half of the squares, then top with another square. Seal edges firmly.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry beignets for about 1 minute per side, until golden brown.
- Transfer to a cooling rack and dust with powdered sugar while warm.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the gooey Nutella filling.
Notes
- Chill Nutella before filling to prevent leaks during frying.
- Fry in small batches for even cooking.
- Store leftovers in a paper bag and reheat in the oven for crispness.
