Description
Pantry Pasta is a quick, comforting dish made entirely from staples you already have at home. With spaghetti, garlic, olive oil, chili flakes, and parmesan, it transforms humble ingredients into something truly delicious.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until just shy of al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- In a large skillet over medium-low heat, warm the olive oil. Add sliced garlic and sauté gently until lightly golden, then stir in the red pepper flakes.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet along with the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine until the pasta is evenly coated and the sauce clings to the noodles.
- Remove from heat. Stir in grated parmesan, season with black pepper, and top with chopped parsley if using.
- Serve warm with extra parmesan and a drizzle of olive oil.
Notes
- Use freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor and texture.
- Don’t let the garlic burn or it will turn bitter.
- Save extra pasta water in case you need to loosen the sauce later.
- You can prep the garlic oil in advance and store it for up to 3 days.
