Description

Classic no-bake squares combining creamy peanut butter, gooey marshmallows, and crisp Rice Krispies for an irresistibly chewy and crunchy treat.


Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 10 ounces mini marshmallows (about 6 cups)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease the paper.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt 4 tablespoons unsalted butter until bubbling gently.
  3. Add 1 cup creamy peanut butter to the melted butter and stir until smooth and combined.
  4. Add 10 ounces mini marshmallows and stir constantly over low heat until the marshmallows are fully melted and the mixture is glossy.
  5. Remove the pan from heat, stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon salt until incorporated.
  6. Gently fold in 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal until the cereal is evenly coated with the peanut butter marshmallow mixture.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and press gently and evenly with a greased spatula to level the top, taking care not to compress too much.
  8. Optional, drizzle melted chocolate or sprinkle flaky sea salt on top while still warm.
  9. Cool at room temperature for about 1 hour until set, then lift from the pan using the parchment paper and cut into 16 squares.

  • Lightly grease your spatula to prevent sticking while pressing the mixture into the pan.
