A classic homemade Pizza Pepperoni with a golden crispy crust, rich tomato sauce, bubbly mozzarella, and perfectly crisped pepperoni slices. Simple, comforting, and packed with bold flavor in every bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound (450 grams) pizza dough
- 1 cup (240 milliliters) tomato sauce
- 2 cups (200 grams) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 24 to 30 slices (about 85 grams) pepperoni
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475 degrees Fahrenheit (245 degrees Celsius) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
- Lightly flour your surface and roll the pizza dough into a 12 inch circle.
- Carefully prepare your hot baking sheet or stone and lightly brush the edges of the dough with olive oil.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1 inch border. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly, then arrange the pepperoni slices on top. Finish with dried oregano and salt.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly with slightly crisp edges.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Slice into 8 pieces and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly shredded mozzarella for better melting and texture.
- Rotate the pizza halfway through baking for even browning.
- Pat pepperoni slices lightly if you prefer less surface oil.
- Allow the dough to come to room temperature before shaping for easier handling.
