Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour melted butter into a 9×9 inch baking dish. Do not stir.
  4. Pour the batter over the butter.
  5. Layer sliced bananas evenly over the top.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly for extra flavor.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden and the edges are bubbling.
  8. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Use ripe bananas with small brown spots for the best flavor.
  • Do not stir the batter into the butter, this creates that classic cobbler texture.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven for the perfect texture.
