Description
This Spiced Cranberry Sauce is a cozy, citrusy twist on the classic holiday side, infused with cinnamon, cloves, and orange zest for a bold, flavorful finish.

- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 star anise (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Add cranberries, sugar, orange juice, water, orange zest, cinnamon stick, cloves, and star anise (if using) to a medium saucepan.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.
- Simmer for 10–12 minutes until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and discard the cinnamon stick, cloves, and star anise.
- Allow to cool completely before serving or refrigerating.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness to your taste by adding more or less sugar.
- Let the sauce chill for an hour to thicken fully.
- For a smoother sauce, mash cranberries while cooking.
- Store in the fridge up to 7 days or freeze for 2 months.
