  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegan

Description

This Spiced Cranberry Sauce is vibrant, sweet-tart, and full of warm holiday flavor. Infused with cinnamon, cloves, and fresh orange zest, it’s the perfect upgrade to your festive table and ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, water, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, ground cloves, and salt.
  2. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 to 12 minutes, until most berries burst and sauce thickens.
  4. Remove from heat, discard cinnamon stick, and stir in orange zest.
  5. Let cool completely before serving. Sauce will thicken as it cools.

Notes

  • Use frozen cranberries if fresh aren’t available — no need to thaw.
  • Adjust sugar to taste for a sweeter or tangier sauce.
  • Blend for a smoother texture or leave chunky for rustic appeal.
