  • 3 to 4 tablespoons strawberry puree for frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease two 8 inch cake pans, then line them with parchment.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy, then add eggs one at a time.
  3. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Add dry ingredients and milk to the wet mixture alternately, mixing gently.
  5. Fold in chopped strawberries and strawberry puree.
  6. Pour batter evenly into pans and smooth the tops.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cakes cool completely on a rack.
  9. Whip frosting ingredients together until creamy and spreadable.
  10. Frost the cake and decorate with fresh strawberries.
