Description

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the strawberry pie filling into a 9×13 baking dish. Stir in vanilla extract if using.
  3. Spread the filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the top. Do not stir.
  5. Arrange thin slices of butter evenly across the surface of the cake mix.
  6. Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden brown and bubbling at the edges.
