Strawberry Glazed Donuts

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 donuts
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Soft, fluffy, and dipped in a glossy pink glaze, these Strawberry Glazed Donuts bring a burst of fruity sweetness to every bite. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy weekend treat.

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour: 3 cups, provides the base and structure for the donuts.
  • Active Dry Yeast: 2¼ teaspoons, helps the dough rise to a soft, airy texture.
  • Warm Milk: ¾ cup, activates the yeast and adds moisture.
  • Granulated Sugar: ¼ cup, sweetens the dough gently.
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon, enhances overall flavor.
  • Unsalted Butter: 3 tablespoons, melted for richness.
  • Eggs: 2 large, bind the ingredients and add tenderness.
  • Vegetable Oil: enough for frying, ensures golden crisp edges.
  • Fresh Strawberries: ½ cup, pureed for the natural pink glaze.
  • Powdered Sugar: 1½ cups, gives the glaze its smooth texture.
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon, adds warmth and depth to the glaze.

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Warm the milk slightly (about 40°C) and set out all ingredients for easy access.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let rest for 5 minutes until frothy, then whisk in butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth, then place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Roll out dough to ½-inch thickness and cut donuts using round cutters. Place on parchment paper and let rise for another 20 minutes.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Heat oil in a deep pot to 180°C. Fry donuts for about 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Finishing Touches: Blend pureed strawberries, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Dip each cooled donut halfway into the glaze and place on a rack to set.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve slightly warm and let the sweet strawberry aroma fill your kitchen.

Notes

  • Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and color.
  • Don’t glaze when donuts are hot or the glaze may melt off.
