Description

Smoky jalapeños stuffed with brisket and cream cheese, wrapped in crispy bacon, and glazed with sweet BBQ sauce — the ultimate Texas BBQ appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large jalapeños
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup chopped smoked brisket
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high (375°F) or oven to 400°F.
  2. Slice each jalapeño lengthwise on one side and remove seeds and membranes.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, chopped brisket, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff each jalapeño with the brisket-cheese mixture.
  5. Wrap each stuffed pepper with a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  6. Grill or bake for 20–25 minutes, turning occasionally, until bacon is crisp and peppers are tender.
  7. Brush with barbecue sauce during the last 5 minutes of cooking and let caramelize.
  8. Remove from grill or oven, rest for 5 minutes, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation.
  • Pre-cook bacon slightly for extra crispness if desired.
  • For less heat, remove all seeds and ribs.
