- 2 1/2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
- 2 large egg whites
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate, melted (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 320 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl whisk egg whites until slightly frothy.
- Stir in granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Fold in sweetened shredded coconut until evenly combined.
- Scoop small mounds and shape into compact rounds.
- Lightly spray air fryer basket or use parchment liner.
- Place macaroons in basket leaving space between each.
- Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for 5 minutes before removing.
- Dip bottoms in melted semisweet chocolate if desired and let set before serving.
