Description

Homemade creamsicles with a bright orange outer layer and creamy vanilla center, perfectly refreshing for warm summer days.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix orange juice, orange zest, granulated sugar, and water until sugar dissolves.
  2. In a saucepan combine heavy cream, whole milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and cool completely.
  3. Pour orange mixture into popsicle molds filling three quarters full. Freeze for 1 hour until slightly firm.
  4. Pour cooled cream mixture into center of each mold and insert sticks.
  5. Freeze for 4 to 6 hours until completely solid.
  6. Run molds under warm water briefly to release and serve.

Notes

  • Freeze orange layer partially before adding cream.
  • Use fresh juice for best flavor.
  • Store tightly wrapped in freezer.
