Instructions
- In a 12 ounce microwave-safe mug, add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir until evenly combined.
- Add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until the batter is smooth and no dry spots remain.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips if using.
- Smooth the top of the batter so it sits evenly in the mug.
- Microwave on high for 60 to 90 seconds, until the top looks set but still slightly soft in the center.
- Let the cake rest for 1 minute before serving.
- Enjoy warm, optionally topped with whipped cream or a dusting of cocoa powder.
