Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Fresh basil leaves, optional
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place matzo sheets on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Brush each sheet lightly with olive oil.
  4. Bake the matzo alone for 3 minutes to lightly crisp.
  5. Remove from oven and spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over each sheet.
  6. Sprinkle evenly with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Season with dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  8. Return to oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
  10. Slice gently and serve immediately.
