Description
Juicy chicken fillets coated in a crunchy walnut crust and baked until golden, then brushed with a glossy honey mustard glaze that balances sweet and tangy flavors perfectly.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken fillets (about 680 grams total)
- 1 cup finely chopped walnuts (about 100 grams)
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine chopped walnuts, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, and olive oil until smooth.
- Pat the chicken fillets dry and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush each fillet generously with the honey mustard mixture.
- Press the walnut mixture firmly onto the top of each fillet to create an even crust.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the crust is golden brown.
- Brush with any remaining glaze during the last 5 minutes of baking for extra shine and flavor.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Lightly toast the walnuts before chopping for deeper flavor.
- Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
- Let the chicken rest before slicing to keep it juicy.
- Maple syrup can replace honey for a slightly different sweetness.
