  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

Juicy chicken fillets coated in a crunchy walnut crust and baked until golden, then brushed with a glossy honey mustard glaze that balances sweet and tangy flavors perfectly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken fillets (about 680 grams total)
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts (about 100 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine chopped walnuts, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, and olive oil until smooth.
  4. Pat the chicken fillets dry and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush each fillet generously with the honey mustard mixture.
  6. Press the walnut mixture firmly onto the top of each fillet to create an even crust.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the crust is golden brown.
  8. Brush with any remaining glaze during the last 5 minutes of baking for extra shine and flavor.
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Lightly toast the walnuts before chopping for deeper flavor.
  • Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
  • Let the chicken rest before slicing to keep it juicy.
  • Maple syrup can replace honey for a slightly different sweetness.
